The run into Christmas this year has seen some quite mild weather filled with icy blue skies so there are still plenty of outside wedding photography opportunities. We are yet to see the sparkling glimmer of frost and dare I say any snow fall which I know my daughters would absolutely love but we will see! Our blog has a few tips to help you plan your Cheshire Winter Wedding 2018.
Create a winter wonderland with fabulous venues & magical lighting
This is an opportunity to get lots of ideas of how to use lighting and venue decoration alongside your menu to create a warm and cosy rustic feel that transforms your wedding day into a winter wonderland.
Lighting is so important especially as the winter nights are drawing in but it can be part of the wedding that doesn’t really feature highly in your over stretched wedding day budget! But in subtle ways it can be your best friend subtly influencing the mood and the backdrop to your photos without costing the earth.
Candles are fantastic and battery powered ones can last for hours without the mess and heat. Displays can be simple using wooden blocks, lanterns and jam jars but I have seen many couples use floating ones as part of wall hanging displays that show off any venue ceiling and also give great mood lighting for during your evening reception. Festoon lighting and fairy light displays are also magical and create a real impact.
Inspired menu choices for your unique winter wedding
Food is a big part of weddings and can be a great way to add personal touches to your big day from slaving away over favours such as homemade jam, honey, chutneys & personalised biscuits to reflecting special times in our lives such as time spent living abroad or special destination holidays. You can include a love of food within your table plan names, or within the menu itself.
Everything we do is all about you. We pride ourselves on working with couples to develop a unique menu that makes your winter wedding day extra special, memorable and unique.
We also ensure all your food is of the highest quality and sustainably sourced. At Benjamin Lauren this is very important to us as a family business and also to many of our couples. We use the best ingredients Cheshire has to offer. We also use family recipes and cooking traditions which helps us deliver a flexibility that enables us to reflect a couple’s heritage within their wedding day.

Two fantastic Cheshire weddings with unique and bespoke menus
This amazing wedding at at Abbeywood Estate in July 2017 included French themed sharing platters to start and Coq Au Vin for main course during the wedding breakfast to reflect Lucy’s time living abroad. A make your own ice cream sundae bar for dessert was loved by everyone!
From the outset Sarah and Rick they wanted something different that reflected them as a couple and the wedding atmosphere they wanted to create. Their wedding day featured a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony on the main lawn, ice cream canapés, a picnic themed wedding breakfast with highlights including a selection of different individual pies and a scone station. The celebrations finished in the evening with a delicious hog roast – perfect to enjoy on a beautiful spring evening.
