Earlier in the month Katie and Andy asked me to cater at their wedding and I can’t thank them enough for choosing us to feed them and their loved ones on their wedding day on Saturday 11th August. Vegan wedding catering is something we enjoy and chimes very strongly with our views on sustainable and locally sourced food.
It was our pleasure to be involved in this charming and unique wedding featuring the fantastic and eco friendly Hall at Marthall. This fabulous contemporary venue is set in rural Cheshire at Ollerton, Knutsford and is the perfect setting for your Cheshire wedding. Rebecca from Story Teller Photography also brought her amazing photography talents to capture this beautiful day.
The Hall has all the facilities you will need including a kitchen, licensed bar and large car park and garden space. It is a fantastic backdrop to your wedding photographs and is also very accessible from all the motorway links and cities in Cheshire and beyond.
Wedding preparation at the Hall
You hire the hall for the whole weekend and essentially it is yours to decorate however you feel fit and there is plenty of room outside to accommodate a marquee for your drinks reception. The Hall is also licensed for civil ceremonies but as Katie and Andy were getting married nearby in a local church on the Friday, we were all able to go down and set up for the wedding breakfast.
The couple had worked hard over many months creating every detail themselves from sourcing chair covers and sashes to match their theme to making their own table centerpieces and growing their own wildflowers for the tables.
They worked tirelessly with friends and family hanging lights and making sure everything was perfect for all their guests. The wedding reception was a real reflection of them as a couple with a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere including a very fun addition of a white wedding bouncy castle!
Vegan wedding catering menu
The basis for the whole wedding day menu was to show the guests just how wonderful and tasty vegan food can be. This was absolutely perfect to reflect the couples ethical beliefs in animal welfare and sustainable food sourcing. Vegan wedding catering also matches our strong beliefs around local and sustainable food.
The menu for the day included canapés of Italian Bruschetta and Salt and Pepper Tofu Bites with dipping sauces during the drinks reception. The wedding breakfast included Leek and Potato Soup with Parsnip Crisps, a main course of delicious Vegetable Tagine with Couscous and to finish Vegan Rhubarb Crumble with dairy free ice cream. An absolutely scrumptious menu we put together working closely with the couple.
A wonderful venue and a joyous occasion
It was a pleasure to work within such a fantastic venue and to play a small part in such a wonderful and joyful occasion we wish you both a long and happy married life together.

Benjamin Lauren catered our wedding on the 11th August at The Hall at Marthall, Knutsford and were absolutely fantastic. The majority of our food choices were vegan, with some fish options and all of it was delicious and beautifully presented! Their staff were all really friendly and very professional, making the day at our DIY venue run very smoothly!
Lauren helped us through the process from start to finish, and thought of things that we would have completely forgotten, having never organised such a large event ourselves before. Lauren was always very prompt to respond to any messages and questions and put us completely at ease. We would definitely highly recommend them!
