With winter fast approaching, our brides and grooms to be may be wondering how to inject the perfect touches to create your very own Cheshire winter wedding wonderland. From outfits to comforting food and stunning room decor, we have everything you need to achieve arctic excellence!

Wintry wardrobe for your Cheshire winter wedding

Finding the balance between keeping stylish and keeping warm is always challenging.  Let’s not forget as quick as the day itself seems to fly, you are still in for a reasonable amount of outdoor time. Whether it’s travelling to churches and venues or capturing your lifelong photo memories. Nothing ruins those group shots like a crowd of shivering guests!

For brides and bridesmaids, teaming your dresses up with a beautiful faux fur stole is the ideal way to stay on trend, in season and keep cosy all at the same time. You can always add accessories to give them more of a wow factor. If you’re a bride and wanting to stand out slightly from your bridal party, you may want to opt for a matching cape or white winter wellies.

For the groom and guys! Finish your look with a heavier set blazer. Velvet is the perfect pick, thicker and warmer and great for a winter colour scheme. Whether it’s a deep purple or blue it will tie in with the winter theme faultlessly.

Glacial Decor

Nothing warms the atmosphere and the temperature of a room like candles. A subtle lighting mixed with a gentle fragrance make any reception elegant and welcoming. For the ‘less is more’ couples try keeping it neutral with creams or whites and inject natural touches such as pine cones and tree bark slice centre pieces. This will create a rustic, natural tone.

If something more eye catching is more your style, you can add plenty of jewels and diamantes. Silvers will give you an icy look, while deep tones such as purples will create a more dramatic feel. All, of course, are perfect for a winter reception!

Welcoming Warmers

Greeting your guests on arrival to your reception with a selection of warming canapés is always a great idea. Keep in mind it may be a cold, wet day so the only thing better than arriving to a beautiful warm reception is being greeted by equally beautiful food!

A soup shot is a great tummy warmer. However, when it comes to canapés there are a great amount of options to choose from. A couple of our favourites being our tasty mini cheese topped cottage pies and our gourmet mini Yorkshire puddings with beef cured in golden syrup and hoisin. Perfection! If canapés aren’t for you, you can still welcome your guests with reception drinks. In this case a freshly warmed mulled wine is the ultimate pleaser.

If you’re looking for some sweet treats at your reception, warm chocolate is always a crowd pleaser as well. Whether it’s a chocolate fondue table served with a platter of dipping fruits, cakes and sweets, or a hot chocolate station set up with a choice of toppings and flavours, you’re sure to be onto a winner!

Good luck with your Cheshire winter wedding – it really is a fantastic time to have a wedding!
